The premise of this drama, largely meant to be a character study, is deceptive. On the surface, we have a mystery: A man is found dead in the bathroom of The Gladiator's Arena, a small Hard-Core / Heavy Metal club in Lower Manhattan. He is dressed in woman's clothing, has twenty-five stab wounds, and has been decomposing for at least a month. Two detectives are brought in to investigate the case after the initial investigating officer disappears.
The detectives question a small array of characters hoping to find clues to their case. Their investigations turn out to be futile until a snitch arrives with the answers. The audience may feel cheated when they find out who the murderer is, but they may actually learn a bit about human nature.
Maxwell Hipolito - Homicide detective; extremely closed minded and ready to condemn everyone who is not "normal". Stocky man in his early forties.
Alex Rayack - Homicide detective; bureaucrat, defender of the system and the status quo. Lean man in late thirties.
Lester Hecht - Sergeant and Initial investigating police officer at crime scene. Lester is a small and slightly effeminate man in his upper twenties. He speaks with a stereotypical gay lisp.
Mick Iselborn - Found dead body; Paranoid schizophrenic subject to delusions of persecution and universal importance, including extra terrestrials in his personal mythology. He is overweight and balding. He is barely old enough to drink.
Larry Festa - Owner of The Gladiator's Arena; Is clinically manic, taking everything lightly and seeing everything in a good light. Very happy, high spirited, and animated. Tall, thin, short hair shaved bald on the forehead only, in his lower thirties.
Richard Harms - Regular at The Gladiator's Arena; Political and religious extremist. Misanthropic, but good natured and well educated. In his late twenties, has a very gruff, derelict biker look to him.
Mario Gabrillo - Head of Security at The Gladiator's Arena. Italian American, not well educated, from a ghetto of Brooklyn , about 35 years old, blond hair, blue eyes, humongous and muscular.
Anthony Lemongelli - Snitch. Well dressed, small Italian man in his lower twenties.
